Today's Canon City Fire District works out of two stations: Station 1 at 1475 North 15th Street, and Station 2 located at 1349 Elm Avenue.
Firefighters are scheduled in three 24 hour shifts. They are then on-call for the next 24 hours following their shift. Total hours per work week is 56 hours.
The District owns and maintains 1 ladder truck and 3 engines,3 brush trucks, a converted Hazmat vehicle, 2 rescue trucks and 3 Chief's vehicles. For getting water to a fire site, there is a 2,000 gallon water tender.
Firefighters are outfitted with coat, pants, boots and helmet. In addition they carry an air pack and bottle.
