Canon City Area Fire Protection District

Established 1902


The Canon City Fire District provides emergency response, emergency prevention and community education to nearly 35,000 residents living a 122 square mile district, as well as protecting Red Canyon Park and the Royal Gorge Park. CCFD also serves as the Hazmat Response Team for all Fremont County. Additional responses to swift water rescues, high angle rescues, and wildland fire incidents.
The area is served from two staffed stations. The average response time on calls is 2-5 minutes.
CCFD works in cooperation with area ambulance, sheriff, forest service and neighboring fire districts to provide protection and education.

Fire Ban Status

Canon City Fire District has lifted the previous Fire ban due to the recent moisture and cooler temperatures.  If you would like to burn, call the number on your burning permit or contact the Fire Station at 719.275.8666.  You must still follow the regulations on your burning permit.  If you need to obtain a permit please come by your closest Fire Station.
